Did you expect to find instructions with your ipad?

You’ve probably now realised that it wasn’t a packaging mistake and in fact due to Apple’s policy of not including an user manual! That’s because the ipad has been designed to be as user-friendly and ‘intuitive’ as possible. You’re just supposed to intuitively search through all the features to master everything. For a lot of the features this does actually hold true. After all it’s likely one of the reasons you bought the ipad was because of the user-friendly nature of it.

But this is no simple gizmo. There is a plethora of features, tricks, customizations and settings to master and unless you happen to know a computer geek that is prepared to give you an insight you’ll likely never know the full extent of what your ipad can do. That would be a shame considering the ipad is not cheap.

When you first take the wheel of a new car – and as long as you’ve already learned to drive – you’ll intuitively know how to drive it. Yet, you will still need to learn what all the new technology features and settings are. Inevitably this takes some trial and error where you wantonly play with buttons until you know what they do. Or you can also refer to the car’s manual.

I don’t know if this is you but I personally don’t have time to wade through a manual. In our digital age a lot more of the information we take in is in bite-size video format. There are literally millions of instructional videos to be found on the net that provide info on almost anything you can think of. If it is something that can be learned and studied, chances are someone’s made a video about it. Compared to reading or audio files, video just seems the most natural and simplistic to take in. We’re all so used to watching tv and films anyway.

Handily, a self confessed ‘super geek’ has produced a step-by-step guide to getting the most out of your ipad. This is aimed at both novices and intermediate users alike. The videos are split into different categories and allow you to break down the various features and settings of the ipad. If there’s something you want to know how to do there will be a video you can watch. Then you can watch the videos whenever you want. Personally I’ve had great results from watching as little as 10-15mins per day.

The ipad’s capabilities are really vast and after you’ve started to get to grips with everything you’ll very likely find yourself amazing your family and friends with the untapped features and cool tricks you wouldn’t dream of searching for on google.
