One of the first things that each backpacker in Sydney is most thinking about, is the best place to get yourself a beer after a hard day of sightseeing! The area Taphouse
The decor will be described as being similar to an English bar. The Local Taphouse has a huge array of different beers, food that is scrumptious but not ridiculously expensive, and a good mix of music on the sound system. They have theme nights, such as Beer and Chinese, Beer Diva, etc … so if you like beer, this can be a venue for you!
Durty Nelly’s
If you can successfully ignore the deafening, drunken Irishmen (many hikers in Sydney consider these part of the charm, however!), the food here is identified as ‘luscious’. There is nothing too extravagant – if you’re in to good steak and a nice selection of beers, you will not be disappointed.
Riverview Hotel
The particular Riverview Hotel is one of several heritage-listed pubs within walking distance of your city main backpackers in Sydney. It costs itself as a mixture of ‘old world charm and modern-day cuisine’, and the punters consent. Most comment in which it is ‘unpretentious’; ‘polished but not snobbish’; and always ‘delicious’!
Brass Monkey

Red Oak Boutique beer cafe
Beer connoisseurs will like Red Oak. It’s npt just a choice between lighting and heavy – you will get framboise, Belgian chocolate stout, real Guinness, blackberry hefe … not a VB may in sight. They also have mouth watering boards that go with the brews, nevertheless manage to stay quite down to earth.
Water Bar
The dwelling is probably one of the most stunning features of the Water Bar – great ambience and an incredibly chic design. They’ve got a great cocktail selection, and plenty of platters available to talk about. Drag some of the other backpackers from your Sydney hostel along with you.
Lord Nelson Brewery
The building is supposed to be haunted … perhaps that’s why you fall into such a ‘dead’ sleep from a good night at the Head of the family Nelson! This is a real personality pub – these people have a range of boutique brewskies brewed specially for the venue which are universally awesome.
Madame Fling Flong
Another one to go to purely for the authentic name! This is a ‘couch bar’ using delicious tapas and desserts and an enjoyable atmosphere.
Bambini Wine Room
Vey much devoted to the wine – you will find 20 or so bottles of wine available by the cup, and complimentary snack platters involving breadsticks, olives and nuts. Thursday and Feb 5th nights get very occupied – head out over a weekday to avoid the particular crowds.
