When choosing any product to use on your skin, from makeup to moisturizer to sunscreen, try to select natural products which don’t have any irritating chemicals in them. Any foreign substance can upset your skin and cause an acne break-out, so avoid using any product which contains ingredients you can’t pronounce.

To help treat excessively oily areas of the skin, which can be prone to acne, try a potato facial. Cut a raw potato into thin slices and place the slices in oil-rich areas of the face, such as the forehead and chin. Gently rub the slices against the skin so that the potato juice saturates the skin. Leave the potato slices on face for at least twenty minutes, then gently rinse the face with water.

Hormonal acne may require more than cleansers, astringents, and moisturizers. Hormonal acne can point to hormone imbalances, which are especially common among women. Certain medical conditions like the best electronic cigarette reviews or polycystic ovarian syndrome (or PCOS) may cause hormonal acne breakouts. Talk to your doctor about starting an intervention such as birth control if your hormonal acne is a concern.

Reducing the amount of red meat can be an effective way to also reduce your acne problems. Red meat contains animal proteins that are difficult for the body to digest, and eating excessive amounts of red meat can result in a buildup of waste in the body that is eventually released as acne. If you typically eat a lot of red meat, try adjusting your diet.

If you want to prevent your skin from breaking out, stay away from caffeine. Most people are very sensitive to caffeine and it causes their skin to break out. Even if you do not drink coffee, chances are you drink pop or energy drinks. These drinks contain a lot of caffeine: check the labels of the drinks you buy and avoid anything containing caffeine.

Tretinoin, a topical retinoid, is a popular medication used to treat comedonal acne, blackheads and whiteheads. It is the acid form of vitamin A and works by increasing skin cell turnover and clearing blocked pores. The medication is available in cream or gel from under the following brand names: Stieva-A, Aberela, Atralin, Airol, Retin-A, Avita, Refissa and Renova.

As you can see, there is good news in acne care. As long as you stick to the basic principles of skin care, you will contribute to more beautiful, healthy skin in the long-run. Do not overlook the primary skin care products on the market in search of the miracle cure. Sometimes simple is better.
